sent in my info, woohoo!  can't wait for this one!

Since many of the ideas that came up for stuff to be swapped involved inspirational sayings, I thought I'd share the list I have come up with throughout my weight-loss journey.  Might be useful to everyone once they start crafting!

On eating / splurging:

Don't live to eat, eat to live.

I could EAT more, but I don't NEED more.

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

If it isnt hunger, food wont fix it.

Never let the urgent crowd out the important.

On getting off track:

Even if you fall off the wagon, it's still there to climb back onto.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Every day can be a clean slate if you want it to be.

Think of yourself as a toy train. All toy trains de-rail now and then. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on track.

Every gain is a learning experience - take the time to learn from it and change your behavior for next time.

If you feel you're at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!

On how much you have to lose:

It's just a number...and I have the power to change it!

No amount of weight is too much to lose. The only way you'll never lose weight is if you don't try.

Slow and steady wins the race.

I dont have to lose 40 pounds.  I just have to lose 5 pounds 8 times!   (or whatever your numbers are)

Every pound lost is a victory!

Small goals add up to a big win!

On thinking positively:

I may not be where I want to be, but at least Im not where I used to be.

Whatever your past has been, you have a spotless future.

You're not losing weight. Because then you could find it again. You're getting RID of the weight!

If I think I can, or I think I can't, I'm right.

On control:

You cannot control everything, you can only control yourself.

In one year, I'll either be fatter or thinner. It's my choice.

"I must do something" will always solve more problems than "Something must be done". The shortest answer is doing.

On Perfection:

Remember that patience and persistence, not perfection, get you to your goal. No one is perfect and it's important to remember that.

This is for the rest of your life, and you're not going to be perfect every day for the rest of your life.

Don't deny yourself everything, just find a balance.

On Change:

You have to love your new way of eating as much as you loved your old way, so make it yummy, enjoyable and fun!

The first step to breaking bad habits is to be aware of them!

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.

On making it happen:

If it were easy everyone would do it!

A goal is a dream with a deadline.

Make sure you enjoy the journey.

If it is to be, it's up to me.

Okay so I was the one who started this idea, and I'm glad someone actually started the swap!  But anyway...I really want to loose weight...and I just found out that I am going to be a bridesmaid for my brother and soon-to-be-sister-in-law's wedding next summer, so now I have extra motivation to loose the weight so I don't look like a pig next to the other skinny bridesmaids!

Well, I started a new job I hate and right after that my aunt died Sad Its ok now, I'm just a little behind on everything.  I was using my cousin's computer and wasn't able to do much with the swaps cause I could only use it for a few minutes at a time.  I was competing with her two kids for puter time.  Sorry about the delay.  I should have posted about what was going on.  I promise I will have partners and everything by tomorrow night!!

I may need to switch a partner.  I have a swapper that is allergic to dogs and she is paired with a dog owner (I really should have asked if swappers had pets on the form!!)  anyway, is there anyone that doesn't have pets that would be willing to trade partners?

Hey. I just noticed our sendout day is a Sunday. Do we want to change that to either the Friday before or the Monday after?  Just cause, I don't know any post offices or UPSs open on Sunday...

Hope everything is going better this week for you, fizzle!

<~~The cat allergic swapper. If the dog allergic swapper is fine with her partner, I don't mind not being switched! It's fine either way to me! As long as the items aren't rubbed all over the cats I'm not too sniffly!

Ok, so somehow I didn't post in this thread so I am playing catch up!
I promise to not rub the goodies on either or my dogs too! (since it seems we are all making promises here!!!)

I just wanted to tell you all that I have a new attitude. I had a revelation today. I have been successful in the past at losing weight, and the only time I lost a significant amount was when I just decided I looked good already. And every time I lost a couple of pounds (like 7) I would say, "hey, that's not so bad only 8 more of those to go..." and "Dang, I look even better now!". I just kinda changed my mind about the whole thing. I dropped 35 pounds with hardly any effort. Then I had two kids in a row, found that 35 pounds and 20 of it's friends to go with!  Angry But, I'm gonna lose it again!!!
And now my good friend and I have a bet, the first one to lose 20 gets $20!! Smiley nice way to treat yourself, no??? The only thing is my friend is super competitive and wants to fed ex me a box of cupcakes!!!
Anyway, I am glad we got partners and can get this swap going!!!

Asian Beef Salad

  Ingredients:
2  boneless beef top loin steaks, cut 1 inch thick (about 1-1/4 pounds)
1/2  medium red onion, cut into thin wedges
3  tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
4  cups torn salad greens or sliced Napa cabbage
2  tablespoons chopped peanuts (optional)

Citrus-Soy Dressing:
2  tablespoons fresh lime juice
2  tablespoons soy sauce
1  tablespoon sugar
2  teaspoons dark sesame oil
1  serrano pepper, seeded, finely chopped
1  large clove garlic, minced

  Instructions:
1.  Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Place beef steaks in skillet; cook 12 to 15 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. Remove; let stand 10 minutes.
2.  Whisk dressing ingredients in small bowl until blended.
3.  Carve steaks. Combine beef, onion and cilantro in medium bowl. Add dressing; toss. Serve on salad greens. Sprinkle with peanuts

*my dad uses bok choi (not sure of spelling) with the greens, it gives it a wonderful flavour.*
