CORKS are great for...

---gluing to a frame
---making a trivet
---making little people (with the cork as the body)
---make a tic tac toe game with the corks as pieces
---glue tacs to the bottom and use them as push pins on a 'cork' board--haha

if you have enough corks you could make a bulletin board.  i've also seen a wreath made entirely from wine corks, but that may be a bit too country kitchen for you...

I saw an episode of Debbie Travis' Painted House where she made a table top out of corks, in a spiral pattern, and then covered the top with glass.  It looked VERY cool.

i'm in the process of collecting corks - i'm going to make alphabet stamps out of them. the fact that they are long and slender makes them great to hold for stamping.

what would you use as the actual stamp? you would carve the cork? or attach some sort of foam? or whatever...
ive seen foam stamps and potato stamps..
do explain <3

oh! and jennyfur, i love the table idea!
i love corks because of there tiny details and swirl designs on them.. and i think it would definately be an awesome touch in a living room..
or maybe even a dining room

because corks are cylindrical, i'm going to carve out each letter on the flat surface. it'll make for a really unique alphabet

Lots of things.

This is my favorite, though: http://www.stratsplace.com/cork_baseboard.html

That site has a load of ideas.

They also make great:

"feet" on little boxes (so they don't scratch your beautifully decoupaged tabletops)

balancers for wobbly chairs (and they're even better on wobbly wire stands or tables that are missing a rubber cap, just push the wire into the cork)

nuts for screws - think anything you might make or adapt with a pointy screw exposed on the inside, cut a piece of cork to the right depth and screw on; now you're safe from the wrath of the pointy screw and it's tightly reinforced
