My hubby actually asked me to make HIM a bag!!!  He has 2 bags that he uses for work-1 is a laptop bag, that is great and has a hard padded outer case-but he says it is too much (too many pockets and too big to carry just a few things around.)  1 is a messenger bag, that is also too big, it is very floppy and when he carries just a few things in it, it just hangs sadly.  So-I made this just to fit his laptop and 2 binders snugly.  There is a divider sewn on the inside to slip file folders into or smaller books into, and the front pockets have pen holders and a pouch pocket, with a larger slip pocket behind that.  He is going to use a strap from another bag that is adjustable, so I just put on some d-rings.

Details:
Size: 13.5' wide x 11' tall x 4" deep
Fabric: Navy and natural canvas

Thank you for posting this great bag.  My guy has just bought a laptop and needs a bag...just exactly like the one you have done....now I will be able to show him yours and ask for modifications.  I can only hope that mine turns out as good as yours.  Great work and absolutely nothing boring about it at all.

it's not boring! it's simple, elegant, and sleek, like those little black dresses w/ white stripes.

Hey, simple clean design isn't boring - especially when it's really well-made like your bag! You've done a great job.

Thanks for the compliments-and the greatest compliment was this afternoon...when the hubby said that it worked great!!  He likes how he can just flip it open and grab something while he is carrying it -no need to unzip or undo buckles.  Also how all of his stuff fit perfectly!  Yup-that's how it works with a custom made bag-You get what you ask for!   Wink

So, I guess I shouldn't have called it boring-but compared to the patterned fabrics that I am used to, it seemed rather dull Cheesy
