These are GORGEOUS!  I saw a hat at the mall using that basketweave stitch, and thought I'd like to try it for myself.

The problem I have when I try to make hats without a pattern is that I can't seem to get all the increasing/decreasing right.  I have nooo idea how to do it evenly.  Do you have a secret?

I would be so grateful if you could post a rudimentary tut/template for the brimmed tam.  Pretty please?  I so want to have one, but the one I've been working on, now 7" wide, lookes a tad cone-y.   I think I got the beginning round and increase series all wrong.   Huh

In an effort to save Vanillaxlight some work on writing up a pattern Kiss, I encourage you guys to check out this crochet-a-long.   Specifically November and February, to be substitutes for vanilla's first hat. Smiley

ETA: Can't believe I left out... I LOVE YOUR HATS!  Tongue  I wanna copycat the first one and the last one. I also forgot to say you're super-duper cute! Shocked Grin  You look different now than your avatar. (You're cute there, too, but it's soo tiny!)
