Hi All,

I've been having some fun with some polka dot oil cloth and a curved purse frame.  I love making purse frame purses because they are quick to make and the result is really satisfying.

This eye glasses case is made from Dottie oil cloth in French Blue (by Moda), a curved purse frame, and it has a cute pink bow and a matching detachable wrist loop.  I also put some heavy sew-in interlining within the purse to help protect glasses.  The whole thing took me just over an hour.

To see the step-by-step tutorial for curved purse frames (with loads of pics) visit my blog http://u-handbag.typepad.com/uhandblog/2007/01/eye_eye_glasses.html

Is a (sun)glasses case something that you would use?

Thanks for looking! XX

I would totally use this over my regular glasses case - forget sunglasses, I need a classy way to tote around my normal ones!  Though I would use one of these for both Smiley  Great design, nice shape... I love it! Smiley

I like those purse frames and could see it modified for a cell phone case or even to hold pens/pencils in your purse.  I would definitely us it for eyeclasses/sunglasses as well.  Nice job!

that blog is a gem. (milk and one sugar for me too!) though i have to admit, i am a bit embarrassed to visit. I don't mind saying the Sassy Stripey wristlet makes me feel inferior indeed.

though i do have a question about the dottie case- that isn't a crimp frame is it? you just use the super glue and the fabric stays in there?

That's a cool idea, I hadn't thought of that!

Thanks Kms!  Hey don't feel inferior!  I've just been sewing a long time that's all, we've all got some stuff that do with some practice!  As long as you enjoy the practice it doesn't matter  Cheesy

I used have only ever used pliers once to make a purse and I was so unhappy with the result (I made my frame bumpy   Angry ) that I never used pliers again.  I have used Gutermann HT2 glue for every purse I have made and it's never once let me down.  That glue does wonders!

Aww Asiago, that's very kind of you to say so.
