I've received my yarn ball too.  I'm knitting up calorimetry right now, and I'm loving how its turning out.  So far I've unearthed some candy and some beautiful stitch markers!!

Wish me luck, I'm hoping to finish by this weekend.

Miss Violaceous sent me the most lovely yarn.  I can't remember the name of it right now, but it was a lovely DK soy/wool blend. Here is my finished calorimetry.

I love the colour!  Here are all my goodies together.

I got two great soaps, a star lolly, a butterfly brooch (no broken bits at all) candy and gum, buttons - one large anchor one! , a Singleton shoe clip (so pretty...too hard to get a decent pic, but will likely be used on a purse), an old coin with the center cut out, insence matches, and sip for the cure green tea bags.

Some close ups of the homemade items :

Stitch markers! Yay, I love these, they were so needed

Button hair pins.  They are so lovely and so classy looking.

Hair clips made from glass beads. They are well made and the glue has held up well (not at all loose).  I love these colours.

Thank you Miss Violaceous for organizing and for being a great swap partner!

I knit a calorimetry for a friend for a Christmas gift and I was just looking for an excuse to knit one for myself.

Oh wow, the calorimetry looks beautiful! It's rowan tapestry, basically a snazzier version of SWS.

The soaps, gum and lollipop are from the asian supermarket. The buttons (including the ones on the bobbypins) are all vintage, as is the shoe clip, which is 50's-looking with rhinestones. I was trying to find a neat vintage broach at my fave vintage store, but everything was out of the swap budget... except for that cute clip, which could be a broach except there's no pinback!  The stitch markers are made with end caps and rose quartz beads. I came up with the design while fiddling around with my stash, and loved them so much that I made a couple for myself. One of them has a lobster clasp to mark rows or crochet stitches, and another one is purposefully upside-down so you can mark the beginning of rounds. The chinese coin is a legitimate antique... the local chinese antique store (I love this town) sells them for a buck each, and when I asked how old they were, they said "well, they stopped making that kind in the 1800's... other than that we don't know." Reproductions are sold everywhere, but that's the real deal. I hope you like it all!

I loved it all.  Thanks for explaining about the coin.  I knew it was old, but really I had no idea it was that old.  The shoe clip is beautiful, and I will keep it for something special.  Thanks for describing the stitch markers.  The pictures don't do them justice.  They are so well made.  I'm using them on my current project and they are just perfect.
