Well I finally found a yarn I like to do this CAL with.

A darn blue Bernat Satin.   Worsted weight, F hook.

I'm on row 6 and it's going really well.

The pictures of everyone's shawl are beautiful.

It's done! It's done!

(sorry the picture sucks, it was done from my laptop)

I decided not to do the fringe, and I love it.  Grin I'm so proud I actually finished something that wasn't a hat!

The sides look funky in the photo, but they really aren't, it's just a bad photo.

I just started this last night for my mother's bday gift. So far I'm onlt three lines in, and I got a bit stuck on starting the fourth, but I know once I get going this won't take as long as it is right now!!!
Everyone's examples were so inspiring. I really love the yellowish one, which I want to make for myself. My mother's is going to be a dark blue.

Wow, this shawl is looking really good, all 21 inches.  It's taking a long time, but then there are other projects to work on.

Here is what it's like after two skeins of Dark Blue Bernat Satin.

I agree, it's a neat stitch.  Although doing the V-stitch in the middle of the 5chain sometimes gets annoying.

It will be worth the work.

I did a slightly modified V stitch on mine. It just makes for a smaller "hole". In the middle of the 5 chain I did a dc, ch1, dc.

Just wanted to share my finished product!
I clearly either used too large a hook or am just too loose, so it turned out quite a lot larger than I originally expected. I didn't add the fringe because my mom is going to use it as a shawl and my little sister will probably use it as a blanket.

I can't wait to make one for myself!
