black sprayed carnations/dark flowers, maybe?

My friends and I had a mini-anti Vday party.  We all wrote all of our horrible exes down on a piece of paper and burned,... thanking all that there was that we were rid of those fools and then we celebrated being free!

I always just make a note of wearing my "love stinks" t shirt and wallowing in self pity, but that doesn't make for a very exciting birthday. I think the best thing about an anti-valentines party (or an anti-valentines state of mind, if you're me) is to make it more ironic than pitiful. I like the broken heart cookies.

You could hand out anti valentines to everyone, and I mean EVERYONE. You could give them to people on the bus, people you pass on the street. They could say on them things like "I'm glad we're just friends" "Its not you, its me" "I don't believe in love" "Loving you today is against my religion"

To the close friends you could give them an anti-valentine invite to your party (get it to them before the actual day).

Instead of decorating the house in red and white and roses and pretty things, do red and black, and spikey plants like aloe veras or haworthias (you can get them at most plant and flower shops now)

You could serve "black spotted heart" punch. Just put frozen grapes in whatever red punch you like.

Oh, and chocolate cupcakes with red icing!

I hope my suggestions help some

My friends have a "bitter singles" party every year, unfortunately/fortunately I don't get invited due to long term boyfriend-ness... but they basically sit around getting drunk, not really being bitter at all!

However, some transferrable ideas may be the huge amounts of dark (bitter) chocolate they get through, and they do a gift exchange, exactly like secret santa, but for singles on Valentines day.

They also have a darts board to pin pictures of horrible ex's or happy couples too and throw darts at (although last year they all got a bit too drunk and one of them ended up in hospital with a dart through his hand!)

Hope that helps, and of it doesn't hope its an ace night!

That is awesome. However, since I was on the committee for the school dance, I have to go.

But I can still sit in a corner and be bitter and emo. Fishnets and all.
Only thing that'll be missing is the booze.  Cry

Ooo yeah, I like that idea... You could even make it a pinata, although I have no idea how easy a cupid pinata would be to find or make... could replace it with a heart pinata! Or paste pictures of ex/couples toa plain pinata and just beat that to bits. Bit of stress relief!

We made a cupid once, on plasticy material. We shot it with a bow and arrow (a kid one with the nerf dart thingys) certian spots were worth more. It was semi entertaining.
