took me days and lots of construction paper which I cut at Kinkos (my husband was working there at the time). Ahhhhgg. No more than a few at a time anymore for me.
Whoa!  You cut up your own strips, that is hardcore.  I bought mine, lucky I did, I almost didn't make the deadline as it was.

I like cutting my own better actually. I can make sure that I get the perfect kind of paper. Several of the Japanaphil stores near me only sell this plastisized stuff that just doesn't hold a crease properly. I don't like it. Your average copy paper cut into half inch strips on a paper cutter works a treat though, and you can get most colors, or color it up yourself!

What are you gonna do with your stars when you've made them burstandbloom? The colour scheme sounds really nice! Just so you know i made just over 500 to fill that jar, but it didn't take that long!

Those are fun to make, but I could never figure out what to do with them. I've seen people make earrings with them, but I like how they look in a jar.
Nice job!

well...i am writing 121 reasons why i love my boyfriend. on reason on each strip, then making the strips into the stars. then putting them in a cutely decorated box for him for v-day! yay! haha i'll probably have to color the end piece black or something so it shows a bit so he'll be able to unfold the stars.

Pretty!

I'm trying to fill a giant (it didn't seem giant when I bought it, but after 2 weeks of making stars...) cookie jar full of them. I bought rainbow colored copy paper, and I'm cutting it into strips as I go. I started with tiny strips, like 1/4 inch, but the longer I go, the wider they're becoming.

I've found that you can't go much bigger than 1/2 inch, though, or they just don't bend in. (If that makes any sense.)

What did you use to make the creases that puff them up? I started with my fingernail, but when my nail started to ache, I switched to a seam ripper. It works pretty well, but I was wondering if there was something better.

well i've made about 50 so far...and i've got 71 more to go...and i'm still using my finger nail. it doesnt hurt at all. so i guess i can't help much. maybe like on of those letter opener things would work? i don't know. good luck with all your stars
