life's a joke, so make fun of it!

*edited to add*  Good gods! This is the 2nd time I've placed a finished project in the wrong place.  I'm so sorry! I'm usually very anal about these things.  Could a mod please move it for me?

Cheap fabric remnants + stuff to make a belt + inadequate sewing skills + hungry tummy + pissed at fashion snobs = The Purse of Fug.

Its not -that- ugly, but its ugly enough.  My house mate M, who is a sewing wiz, wouldn't believe that I make all those "boo boos" on purpose.  Technically, they were half 'n half.  I really don't care how 'professional' it looks, 'cause its for me and I'm not that good of a sewer. And I have the attention span of a gnat.  I meant to put the handles on before I sewed up the side, but life doesn't always go according to plan.

This will be perfect for those days when I just want a light load, but need a form of entertainment.  Thank you, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for modeling with your new friend:

I -could- post a tute, but I looked at about a million place mat purses for a week or two before hand, and it would be such a waste to write Yet Another Place mat Purse Tutorial :-p
(though it wasn't a place mat)

Shutting up now.

I absolutely love it!  Is it shiny or is the phot!  I love things that go against "fashion"!

The fabric does have a little sheen to it, as its a thick, rich upholstery type fabric.  And the strips (belt material) that I made the handles out of has little fake mirrors sews onto it (not by me!)

Dontcha just love going against the grain? Smiley
