Making beads from plastic bottles

hi, i just attempted to make these and ran into a problem. the water bottle just wouldn't cut! what did you use to cute your bottles? at first i tried scissors, which didn't work at all. then i tried a kitchen knife, which didn't work either. i really want to make these but can't figure out how to cut the bottles! help please

I just used scissors, but if you are having problems.. try using a box knife/razor.

They dont take long at all to make... just depends on how youwant them to melt. And if you use longer pieces of plastic they are not oonly bigger but take longer to melt but stay together much much better.. hardly any deformities.

I wish I had a heat gun...

ok, so I didnt have a heat gun so I used a candle as a heat source. I seemed to work but I had trouble getting the outter edge of the plastic to melt to the rest of it. I did a diffent method with 2 pliers. I melt the bead into shape, then get the edge all soft and clamp down on it with the other  pliers to mush the plastic and finish the bead. I hope that made sense. Dont put the plastic in the flame, just right above it or it burns.
