Woo-hoo!  I received today!  The fabulous Polkaroo sent me this lovely package: (sorry for the flash.  It's getting dark Tongue)

She made me a great book with recipes organized by season and also a super cute instant shopping list with marble magnets.

And check out the detail on the tree she made for the cover.

She sent me the most yummy sounding recipes.  I can't wait to try them!!  The Earl Grey poached pears sound heavenly and I know my hubby is going to love the gingerbread biscotti.

Thanks so much Polkaroo!! Cheesy

Ooo cinnamon teal! What wonderful things Polkaroo sent you! The book is gorgeous and I can't get enough of those magnets. And what a perfect idea - I always stick my shopping list on my fridge. (However with much less fun, boring magnets!)

I totally forgot to post one of the recipes I sent!  So here's one:

Spaghetti Sauce

1 lb. hamburger
1 lb. bacon
8 link Italian sausage
4 8oz cans tomatoe sauce
cup sugar
2 6oz cans tomatoe paste
4 sauce cans water
4 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper

Mix all ingredients except meat in large pot with lid.  Brown bacon and then use bacon grease to brown sausage.  Make meatballs out of hamburger and brown in bacon/sausage grease.  Add meats to sauce mix.  Simmer for 4-5 hours.  Keep stirring till done.

This recipe was given to me by my college boyfriend who had to ask permission from his mother.  She got it from the local Funeral Director!
The mixture will cook down at least to half the amount if not further.

Did I mention that DisneyFan and I sent one of the same recipes?!  It was funny!

Aren't the magnets cute?  I just love them.  And the detail on the book is amazing.  All the different colors on the little illustrations are cut outs that she put together!  At first I just thought that she had bought those pre-made 3D stickers, but she actually made them herself.

Here's a recipe that I didn't put in the book, but I want to share with you anyways:

Garlic Dijon Vinaigrette:

1 T. dijon mustard
1/4 c. balsamic vinegar
1/3 c. olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 green onion, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
1 tps. thyme - fresh or dried
1 T. honey

whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl and serve with your favorite green salad.

Your book looks real cute, bekahzzz.

This was such an awesome swap. Is anyone thinking about starting up a second round soon?
