Okay here is a recipe that is great for cold dreary days.

CHEY'S FAMOUS PUMPKIN SOUP

2 ( 15 oz ) cans of pure pumpkin
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cups of water
1 1/2 cups of chicken broth
1 pint heavy whipping cream

Mix together all ingredients, except for the cream.

Bring to a simmer but do not boil

Turn off heat

Add cream and stir

Serve and Enjoy

* to thin further add more water not chicken broth

So I'm going thru my recipes tonite & I found a book (that does have some really great stuff in it) I purchased at an American Indian PowWow down here in Florida years ago & I opened it up to see for some "different" recipes. Here's what I found:

Locusts aka: V-Le

Gather locust (cicada) at night, then pick up those out of the shell, remove shell from others.  Do not let the sun shine on them or they will spoil.  Wash & then fry in a small amount of grease.  Eat hot or cold.

Wow     There are also recipes for Ground Hog, Opossum, Raccoon & Yellow Jackets (bees) Soup.   

I won't be putting those in my recipe swap...don't worry Joolz.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I recieved from ptarmic wampus already, and I'm so happy! She totally spoiled me with all sorts of goodies!
I'll be posting the pictures tomorrow (hopefully.) I just got a new computer and haven't yet gotten my photo software loaded up yet.
Anyway, thanks so much wampus, I love everything, and your stuff is on it's way shortly!
