this was definitely a fun swap. i just hope it doesnt clash too bad with anything. i think i shall post a recipe that i sent, since theyre already all typed up. ^,^

Jellybean Jumbles
1 cup shortening
cup white sugar
cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup jellybeans (I like the fruit bowl variety)

Preheat oven to 350˚.  Line baking sheets with parchment paper.  Cut each jellybean in half.  Yes this is tedious.   Cream together shortening and sugars, beat in eggs and vanilla.  Fold in dry ingredients.  Add jellybeans.  Drop tablespoonfuls (or those small ice cream scoopers) onto parchment lined baking sheets at least 2 inches apart.  Bake 8-11 minutes at 350˚ until the tops are just taking a little color.   These are best served warm.  They are very, very sweet, and they were my all time favourites when I was very little.  Depending on what kind of jellybeans you use, they may bleed colors into the cookie dough and look all tie dyed, which is very cool in my opinion.

Hello,

I received from Roberta Mac yesterday. She did a wonderful job crafting - and it's her first swap!! She sent a wooden recipe box that she painted and decorated in retro black and white ribbon and applique -- including these adorable dangling cutlery. She sent some really interesting recipes including one I'm making tomorrow (I'll post results).

And she added really cute retro/kitchen notepads,  a recipe book for 'Grilling like a Man'  Cheesy

She also included a tin with 2 types of cookies in them. I had 2 friends over Friday with their toddlers and we pretty much devoured the batch. Very, very yummy!

Wow!  what cool stuff!

I received this morning from the lovely Summerlyn  Grin

It was her first swap too and she sent such cute things.

This is the group shot of the recipe book (the recipes are awesome - my husband-to-be is doing some serious pestering!), a calendar, Australia stickers - the animal signs are ACE and a tube of Vegemite.  Hooray!

Here are two of the cute collaged pages she did - i love the desserts page!

And this is another very cool page.  A pasta recipe with a printed background which might? be printed with spaghetti.  Anyway, it's great!

thank you Summerlyn!  now excuse me while i go and start cooking!
