OK... I heard from Joolz & I got her blessing to post some pics.  This is what I made for her...

I present to you... The Yum Yums Box...

I refurbished an old cigar box that was the perfect size for my recipe cards.  Lots - o - sanding, staining, decoupaging & shalaking.  I fell in love with the "Tokidoki" characters.

On the inside lid, I made a Weights & Measures chart. Each section is color coded for the types of recipes that there are... ie: appetizers, soup & salads, main courses...etc.

Then, on each wooden divider, I made Shrinky-dink (shrink plastic) charms for the theme of that type of recipe section.

That's lovely. And what a great idea to include the guide to Weights & Measurements. I'm always having to look those up.

Wow..... Seeing all of these great projects, I am getting swap anxiety for the first time in a long while! I'm feeling a little inadequate here, geeze. Roll Eyes Grin

Way to go, everyone!

I didn't have time last night to post but my swap partner steph rocks.  I just got back home from staying at the rents and now I have tons of recipes ( 25+) to make.  Thanks so much!!! Smiley  I love the box and charms, thank goodness for the weights and measures my hubby is british and needs help when he helps me cook!!

She also said that you can write to the corp. office & protest on behalf of your store & if they get enough complaints...they won't close the department down.

Not to be off topic, but I did just that and I posted a message on a different board here.

What a great gallery!  I'm kicking myself now, I could really use a recipe card box...
