So I saw a tiny little book, looked at the tutorial and couldn't help myself. This is one of 8 completed teeny tiny books. There will be at least 50 to complete their purpose of displaying all of my fonts (okay I'm crazy.) This one, however, is a storybook. I got a wild hair today and typed up one of my stories. I am (or will be in March) a fairy fairytale storyteller in costume at Renaissance Faires in the area. I wrote the stories this fall, but did not have a medium ready to carry the stories to Faire this October. Now I Do!
Raging success!

If you would like I can post the story. It is one of an anthology I am hoping to have published, I don't have a publisher yet, but...

I agree the story does sound interesting from reading the title. And I would love to see the completed book with illustrations. The cover is very princessy!

Here is the story, no illustrations, I will get those up when I finish(start) them.

Why Princesses shouldn't do laundry... They just muck it up. by Liane Courtright (in the style of my Renaissance Faire character Elven Midwife Llanalla)

One day a lovely, but rather silly princess makes a new white robe for her betrothed (she had received a new sewing machine for her birthday and her mother had been asking when she might try it out).

She takes the new robe out to look at it in the sunshine, (Castle light is notoriously dim).

It is then that she discovers a Smudge! (dun dun dun) She doesn't want to bother the castle washerwoman, so she pulls a washing tub around to her rose garden and fills it with water. (To bad for the washerwoman who really was going to use the tub, but now can not find it.)

While the princess is gone retrieving some sweet smelling soap from her bathing chamber a knight finds the tub full of water, and waits beside it thuroughly confused.

She returns with her attar of roses and a blue chemise, which also has a smudge on it (no doubt from all the chocolate that the princess was gobbling the night before, princess love chocolate), only to find the knight staring into the tub looking very confused.

The princess explains that she wants to wash the fancy new robe that she has just completed for the prince she is to marry.

The knight, who is just as silly as the princess, tells her that he was just on his way to have a spot removed from his red halberd.

Blissfully unaware of the ridiculousness of washing clothing in such costly and sumptuous soap, all go into the tub. White robe, blue chemise and red halberd, Plop, plop, plop.

They mix and stir while the tub foams with the smell of roses, which both silly people attribute to the rose garden about them.

The princess eventually decides that the washing is now done, and beginspulling the items one by one out of the water...
and placing them on the rose bushes to dry.

First comes the red halberd, which the knight comments doesn't look quite right.

"You're right! It's pink!" giggles the princess.

Then she pulls out her chemise, which also does not look quite right. Now the princess is getting worried...

Being a princess she had no idea what she did wrong, but when she pulled out the lovely white robe she is shocked.

The Knight drops to his knee and apologizes for what has happened to the robe. He is sure that it must be all his fault.

But, when he looks up it is to see the princess grinning from ear to ear.

"Hurray" is all she has to say.

Purple is the royal color!
