This was a dress I fashioned from "Inez" fabric purchased at Ikea for the low, low price of $3.99 per yard (I am seriously cheap, umm, I mean a good bargain hunter and thrifty.  Yes, that sounds much better  Wink).

While I like exploring Ikea I feel some type of panic attack coming over me each and every time I venture through their doors!  The eyes of the shoppers seem glazed over with mindless consumption and I imagine them ready to attack me!  Obviously, I just don't deal well with the hustle and bustle of the modern, capitalistic world.

Anyway, I found this fabric and after paying ran for the door and made this dress the very same night!

I created mocha brown bias binding and a coordinating (but not matching) belt with a different circular pattern in the same colors as the body of the dress.

Strangely, I happened to notice this same fabric made into curtains in Carrie Bradshaw's apartment in Sex in the City.  Huh, maybe I should see if I have enough fabric left over for some drapes...

Such a cute outfit with the fishnets! I had no idea IKEA sold fabric. It looks fairly simple to make...did you use a pattern?

I absolutely love this dress and all the others you've posted recently - they are beautiful!  Do you use a pattern or are you just a dress genius?
