My son built his house from a kit. He included many personalized features and it is really a beautiful house. His wife and I did this mosaic in their master bedroom shower.

One note: the variations in the grout is not mold! It is because the dark grout was still a bit wet when I took these pictures.

My grand daughter had to be in at least one of the photos!  Smiley

It took forever to finish but we are pleased with the end result. Let me know what you think!

Craftygram, that is a stunning piece of mosaic work! I'm so jealous! Your son is very lucky to have such a talented wife and mother! The design is lovely!  Wink

Ya, my mom rocks!  Grin

My sister in law really likes turtles so there are two turtles made mostly from green stained glass in there perched on logs. It is really like a forest in there. I just love it! But I think the best part is I get to use the left over tiles for my stuff!

Wow!  Shocked That is some serious mosaic work!

It's beautiful. If they ever sell the house, they'll have to take the shower with them.  Cheesy

Thank you all for your gracious comments.  I have to admit to doing the creative part of the work but leaving the grouting to my son.  Perhaps the worst part was that the glass tiles had a paper backing so we were working "blind" because we couldn't see the tiles as we placed it in the mastic.  It was also difficult to remove the paper.  It would have been easier if the tile had been mounted on mesh.  Of course I think the best part of the picture is the little cutie in the pink pajamas.  She loves the shower.  The house isn't exactly a kit.  It utilizes osb and foam panels as the construction medium.  The kit part was all of the trusses and panels to construct the 1500 sq. ft. cape cod style house.

WOW - what an amazing project. I can understand why it took you forever but all that blood, sweat and tears has paid off in the end and everytime you shower you can reap the rewards of your efforts. Amazing job, i only wish i could do a project like that. Im renting so my landlord has strict decorating rules...however, if i just went ahead and did it, there wouldn't be much she could do to stop me. lol

I totally agree. Your home should be a reflection of who you are! It should not look like a furniture store!
