hey cleandirty, I like the idea of fitting through the hip and then lengthening the hem. The top looks great, though. Does that include your built-in-corset that you were so worried about? (looks like you pulled it off!)

sajona - can we see a picture? =)

it is very dull looking at the moment as it really is just a muslin - but tonights fitting went great and it fits as well as I can imagine it ever will - so I'm cutting the actual fabric out tomorrow WHHHHEEEEEEEEEE! I'll post a pic when that one is getting going! Will need to ask the bride if she minds shots of it on here as she is quite well known elsewhere on the net so wants to keep it a bit secret.

sewn all three layers (fashion fabric, interlining and lining with boning in) - have basted the first 2 layers and have runout of boning for the last 2 seams..so it has come to a halt till tomorrow morning!! Skirt panel pinned underneath for effect.

Quick update - it is nearly finished! Just the hem and buttons to sew on Smiley

Wedding is on wednesday and the bride will be happier with me posting the pix when the day is over (as she has lots of online friends who might see it) - so expect lots on Thursday Smiley

Har -- I ended up getting so frustrated with that dress I just switched patterns. I'll make the first one later out of matte jersey or whatnot.

I settled on this pattern:

And here's an action shot:

It fits really well except it's a bit difficult to pull over my boobs. I'll add a placket to the side seam eventually, but I might not have enough time to do it before W-Day.

Great pattern, though.

Whew - busy summer, especially with making the dress.  The day was picture perfect and she looked lovely. (I was unbelievably nervous.)  Here's the picture:
