9 1/2" square, quilted wall hanging inspired by Harry Potter's Gryffindor Lion.

This is an original paper pieced pattern designed by me.  100% cotton fabric & batting.  Fabric sleeve on the back for hanging.  The pattern is available here

I hope you like it!  This is one of my favorite patterns that I've designed and I love all the different gold fabrics I was able to find in my stash for the lion.

How did you quilt it?  Is it just stitched in the seams of each piece?

It is very modern and how great that you designed your own pattern!!  I love the color combo--what a good use of your stash!!

That is really awesome!  It would be neat to do blocks for the other houses.. unless someone already has?

Ohmigosh!  What a great response!  Thank you everyone for all the compliments.  Cheesy

It's quilted around the Lion's head, which looking at the picture just now, I realize is really hard to see.

I have actually done blocks for all the houses and for Hogwarts.  I have a whole slew of Harry Potter themed paper pieced squares.  All the patterns are on my website: http://www.sewhooked.org/HPPaper.html

You can click on the pictures to see a larger image or on the title of the block for the pattern.  I designed them all myself.  I'm working toward having a completed quilt to show at Phoenix Rising in New Orleans in May.

I've made lots of bags using my squares, which is what I originally designed them for.  This one started it all because my daughter wanted a Gryffindor messenger bag to take to middle school and we couldn't find one.  You can see all my bags here.

Thanks again to everyone for the awesome response.  Cheesy
