Beautiful! What do you mean by the elastic at the waist?

Basically, if I was using a zipper I would have used a minimum of  three pieces for skirt - one front piece and two back pieces.  Instead, the skirt is only two pieces - one front and one back.

When I attached the skirt to the bodice (the point in the process when I would turn the skirt inside out -leaving the bodice "right" side out - and sew the bodice and skirt ith the correct sides facing) I sewed an extra set of stiching near the back sean (invisible from the outside) which created a tunnel for 1/4 inch elastic to go through.

That way, it is easy to slip on without having a zipper and yet still form fitting.

Does that make sense?  It is probably easier to show rather than describe but hopefully it makes a bit more sense.   Wink

Thanks for explaining, it makes perfect sense!Very clever!

I love your dresses. But what I have been noticing - having seen about half a dozen pictures of your home - is that your space is so clean and well kept.

I am a bitch about pictures - the photographer in me keeps getting mad with messy backgrounds and most people on craftster, even if they are very nice, creative, social beings, seem to live in different kinds of dumpsters all over the world.

Hey, keep up the great work and prove to us that being creative does not allways mean being messy. Smiley

I am going to clean my house now. You made me ashamed.

I am like that too!   It seems silly - even to me - but if I am presenting something for other people to view I feel compelled to pick up the dirty socks and underwear and hide the liquor bottles out of sight.   Wink

Actually, I think my mind is so chaotic, pathologically creative and constantly churning with ideas, projects, worries, anxieties, and little obsession  that somehow it helps to have a tidy apartment.  It is the one little thing I can control in the world I guess.   Embarrassed

I'm loving all your dresses, this is great.

I've been wanting a leopard print dress for a while, but nothing I've seen fits right. I guess I'll have to learn to do it by myself.
