Okay...I've been reluctant to post on here because I wanted to wait until I had more experience at my drop spindle.  Well, I had to show this because I was proud that I learned to Andean ply my singles today from an on-line tutorial I found.  It actually had pics and video, but I couldn't get the videos to work for me, so I just went off of the pics and the written instructions.

I made this on a CD drop spindle that my hubby helped me make about a week ago.  I haven't measured it yet, but it looks like it might be enough to make a pot holder, or something.

*PLEASE...keep in mind that I do not have any carders, so this was made from fluffy llama batting that someone gave me for my needle felting.  This was not roving, so I didn't have it 'prepared' in any way other than it being washed and probably flicked by the people who prepared it.  I don't think I'll dye it...just because it's my first, I'll leave it natural.

That being said...here it is...my first semi-decent hand spun 2-ply yarn!

I am looking forward to getting a spinning wheel sometime soon!  If anyone hears of any really great deals on a used one, let me know!

Thanks for looking!
RM

Oh, it looks very lovely!  One of my favorite parts of oogling the yarns made here (other than drooling over colors, of course) is the fun names...doesn't it get a name?

Congratulations on your FIRST!  Can't wait to see more!

We'll call it...Alphabet.

"Why?", you ask?

Because it's the product of my FIRST (alpha) one, and I (bet) I'll make more!  Hee-hee.

Later, Chiquita!

I'd like to make you do a spit-take sometime!  I'd want to be there to see it, though!

LOL,
RM

Nah, if you were here, I'd have to share my homemade bread with you! Just kidding, of course I'd share.  We could take it out of the oven with a potholder that you knit for me!  Smiley  G'night!

Oh, now you've got me hungry for homemade bread!  I made from scratch-chocolate chip cookies last night!  Hubby took them to work today.  They were devoured.

Later,
RM
