my boyfriend and i are david cross/arrested development fanatics.  after reading a discussion here about reconstructing ken dolls, i decided to give it a go and made a tobias fünke doll:

he's in his standard never-nude denim shorts, and is equipped with a framed photo of carl weathers.

it was really hard to remove the doll's hair in a horseshoe balding pattern style.  there was a row of hairs across his forehead that was impossible to remove, so we're pretending it's a reference to the hair plugs episode...

ahaha. Cheesy  That's awesome!  Great job -- the resemblance is amazing!
How did you make the mustache, and cutoffs?

I think the hair looks great -- the hair plugs idea totally works!

rofl!  *runs off to show the bf, too*

this is AMAZING!  It looks JUST like him!  I love his cut-offs and the reference to Carl Weathers.  So hilarious.  I, too, was thinking of the hair plug reference.  You could probably paint over the front bit of hair (is it hair or plastic hair?) if it's just holes or plastic - I can't quite tell if it's real hair or not.  But I adore it, it's so fantastic! thanks for the feedback, guys.

the cutoffs are just the slacks he came in, painted with fabric paint.  the mustache is made from the hair on the dolls head...

the line on the head is like little bits of hair.  i might try to tweeze them out, if i can, though they may be too short now.  or i might just leave it as is, i dunno.

That is amazing and awe inspiring. Thank you for giving me a reason to stop listening to whiny music.
