Hello! I'm also from Portsmouth.....last time I ventured onto the UK board there were practically no others from the South, heh, anyway, hello all!

indigogrrl, I only know of the fairs at Purbrook that they have a few times a year, other than that, I think there are a few on the outskirts of Hampshire

I dont think there are any Craft Shops left in Southampton now....I am on the Island and there is a cool one in Newport. You'll just have to hop on a boat and come over some time, its only like a tenner on the Fast Cat

I'm from Ferndown, near Bournemouth Tongue

I get my craft supplies from the previously mentioned Hobby Craft centre near Haskins garden centre near Longham/Ferndown. It's a shame there's no nearby bus routes, I have a hard time getting there from a few miles away - it's just outside what I would consider walking distance, and I can't drive (broke student can't afford to learn, I have to rely on my mother). But it is a really massive craft superstore with lots of stuff inside for all sorts of crafts, so you might want to consider driving down one weekend and you'd probably be able to satisfy most of your needs. It's probably about 40-50 minutes from Southampton.

Omg  you have to go to the needlemakers, go downstairs and straight ahead is a room literally crammed full of dresses dating back to the 30's!!!! The guy in there is really nice as well, and lets you haggle!! there is also (to the left of the till, next to the shoes) a chest of draws which have fabulous leather gloves - starting at 6!!!!!!!!!  i get lost in there.... i spent 4 hours in there once. xxx

i live in lewes too! so strange that there are more of us than just me on craftster!

the best charity shop in lewes is age concern next to woolworths as they have a 50p rail there always and it sometimes has cute vintage aprons. i got 2 wool and 1 cashmere jumper there, all vintage, for 50p each!

lewes is so much better than brighton for 2nd hand clothes!!!

Hello!

I'm hoping to find some other crafty people to join us in Southampton. We have a regular meet up for sewing/knitting/crochet/repairs every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm at The Art House in Southampton (I volunteer there). It's a great little cafe (although I'm sure I'm biased) and the company is awfully nice.

In addition, I'm the crafts coordinator at the Art House, and I'm always looking for people who might be interested in selling items. Just let me know!

Hiya, my name is karen and I am on the south coast. I run my own business in cardmaking and scrapbooking, I am really interested in talking to people in the local area to see if we can talk and help each other out.

Please take a look at my website and if this looks like something you'd be interested in then give me a call.

 Smiley Hi
I'm in Waterlooville & work in Havant just next door to the Hobby Craft that opened last year, my bank balance has taken a pounding!

there's a few second hand shops in Havant but the besyt place is the Car Boot Sale over in Bridgemary (Gosport) on a Sunday, I've picked up a few bargains over there!

Oh my goodness I am shocked!  Crafty Southerners!!  I'm in Fareham and have been trying to get a crafters circle organised in the local area, but there don't seem to be that many people on the other forums I've looked at who live that south central.  About four people seemed very interested though.  I know I'm a newbie but if you'd like the idea of a craft circle then get in touch.
