::mind you, I hate Valentine's Day.  But some reason, I just had to make this::

crocheted out of strips of felt with a K hook (strips were cut about 3/8ths of an inch wide), lined with stiffened felt, felt sides and handle.  After the two hearts, I just couldn't weave any more ends in!  This stuff (if you cut it thin enough) pulls apart pretty easily  Undecided  Cute though!

HeHe! When I first saw this in "recent posts with pics", it thought it was a frosted cake (and I couldn't figure out why it had handles)...and then I looked at the heading...D'OH! This is pretty cute, and it makes me hungry! Nice job!

I hate pink, but that is very cute!  felt however - didn't you have problems with it pulling apart, cut that thin?

CraftADDchick:  actually...it does look like a cake!  Hmm, maybe I should geet some heart-shaped pans to make my b-day cake with a emo-ey broken heart Cheesy
RonnieCat: It did pull apart. A lot. Sometimes into pieces just 3 inches long or so.  Also, trying to cut it into a continuous strip meant having those little corners that I didn't dare trim.  Each side took about 3 sheets of felt each.  It is quite a sturdy little bag though  Tongue

ETA:  I like pink, but not baby pinks.  The original plan was going to test it out with the pink, then do one in red and black with a "broken" heart...it'll be a bit before I can force my fingers to be molded to scissor handles again  Undecided

Really cute!
If you were going to do this again - I would suggest getting a rotary cutter and mat - my fingers are cramping at the thought that you cut all those strips with scissors.

It totally looks edible!!!

Maybe it you tried it with strips of polar fleece the strands wouldn't pull apart as easily, but would retain a similar texture.
