So, I FINALLY found one of these babies after searching Goodwill's and Salvation Army's for a few months.  Poor thing is hideous... I thought of spray painting it, or decoupaging comics on it, covering it in stickers.... what would u do to it?

Ooh, that's cool!  Were you looking for it for a particular reason, or just for fun?  I think decoupage could be cool, but might interfere with moving parts...  In this art gallery in Chicago they have gumball machines that dispense art.  I'm curious what your plans are for this one.

What about vintage pictures of people (like 1950s) Mod podge all over it (except where the handles turn and the candy is shown)?  If you can take the turning handles off then around that area mod podge.  Then add an extra food safe sealer over it.

Comics could be cool also.

Candy wrappers would be neat also.

it would be really great if you could some how put light bulbs in the candy compartments. It would make a great lamp. You could even wrap the compartments with colored cellophane!

Super cool would be if you could get someone to wire it so when you turn the coin slot, it turns on the light for that compartment.  It may be impossible depending on how the machine is constructed, but if it can be done . . .

That is badass! The wheels are turning...here's my idea...

Bird feeder. You could make a tile mosaic on the metal parts, or just use outdoor paint, and dispense different types of bird food from each bin.
