Take initially one cone of oiled handspun wool with flecks of red blue yellow green in it and my Good House Keeping Needlecraft Encyclopedia mix it with my parents lack of a blanket on their sofa and voila the idea of the Daisy Stitch blanket was born.

It didn't end up that big, probably just over 1.5m square, but it's definitely warm and cosy AND it was ready for christmas, all the ends sewn in and everything, just not great pics as usual lol as I never leave enough time for that!

unblocked:

and a closer look at the stitch:

pretty pleased with it, although ideally it could have done with being bigger.
What do you think?

That is awesome. Looks very cozy but you did a great job and since its small people can use it just to cuddle with and drink a cup of hot cocca late at night  Wink

Wow, I'm so impressed that you did the whole blanket out of daisy stitch.   And how perfectly rectangular it turned out, too!

How pretty! (The stitch and the blanket.) If you share how you do the stitch, I'll be your best friend. Or I'll just make something using the stitch and give you all the credit. Your pick.

Very nice!  I made a baby blanket the same way - took some yarn, found a pretty stitch in my stitch book, and crocheted away.

To make it bigger, you can always put a border on it.

Beautiful!  What a wonderful blanket! Whoever got if for Chistmas must be really happy Grin Are you willing to share the stitch?  I looked for it online, but couldn't find it.

Am looking into whether it's legal to share the stitch, but if it isn't I know of a similar one available online... watch this space Wink

It is beautiful.  The pattern looks like it would be one that takes alot of concentrating.  Did it take long to make?
