2/18/12 - I no longer have the directions for wrapped pens, I lost them several years ago. To obtain them for yourself, do like I did, contact DMC threads directly and ask for them.

ok you lovely lot - i have this yarn just begging to be used. it's from a zip up sweater which was awful.
it's chunky, i knitted this swatch using 6.5mm needles.
as you can see it's pretty garish, hot pink, yellow, soft blue and brown - quite a heady mix. and since the colours are in quite short stripes, it doesn't self-stripe either.

any ideas on what to do with it?

For you, I think it would make a great hat...especially if you like puff balls like myself. I see that as any kind of accessory.

I really think thats a great kiddie item yarn

I second the hat idea. I'm a fairly conservative dresser, but I love crazy winter hats! And if you have any left over you could do some ridiculous mittens. Smiley

oooooo a whole set! If it was a sweater, you can make a hat, mitts and a scarf! Very bright! I also wonder if you can make a bag and then felt it....... depends on the fiber content!

i think it's acrylic (it has that squeakiness when you knit). so no felting for me Sad

i would make a set, but i literally just finished a set and i don't really want to start again!

i do like the idea of a bag though - a tote to stuff all my yarn into!

That color combo looks pretty tame to me..my current fav combo( it changes...often) is aqua/red/chartruese.
Nuetrals make me a bit sad.
I'm making a grey sweater for my husband, and I'm not sure I'll survive.

On the advise of a few here, I looked a bit closer at new sweaters today.
I found an enormous wool sweater, and 4 silk/angora/wool blend SKIRTS...each for...

99 cents!

The yarn from the skirts will definitely need to be dyed..it's an odd beige/grey color. Anyways..like I said..I like crazy colors...so it'll be fun.

Ooops..had to edit...the silk blend is from skirts..not sweaters!
