Hurray for finding a crochet forum! Cheesy

Ok, so right now I'm going crazy trying to find a free crochet pattern for a sweater for my mom. She has pointed out a knitted sweater that had a braided pattern down the front. I blieve they are called cables in knit, but I can't knit for the life of me. Does anyone know if I can achieve the same look in crochet and if there is a pattern?

You can, with front post and back post stitches.  Cheesy
The only free woman pattern I know is this one : http://www.knitting-crochet.com/crochet/aran.html
But I believe there is a book named aran crochet with lots of project in it. I'm not 100% sure, as I can't find it on the web anymore.
