My collection of ATC's has recently topped the 200 plus mark. This is a mark I set for myself when I was approached by my local library to mount an exhibit of these beauties. But I noticed that out of 200 plus cards- only 10 or 12 of them are my work. I know ATC's are meant to be traded, but I also know they were interested in showing my work also, as I am the hometown girl doing the exhibit, but it feels weird to make an ATC just to keep it. Anyone else have tthis conundrum? I don't want to call it a problem- as it isn't really a problem, but does it bother you when people look at your collection and ask where your work is??

I don't have that problem as I'm still building my collection, but I had a thought. What if you made some ATCs for the exhibition that once shown could be traded with people at the end? It might inspire others to have a go at a new medium, or bring ATCers out of the woodwork. And would help get over the 'making just for myself' issue, maybe.

Nice idea. I was thinking of maybe offering a workshop one of the days and having them available for trade then- great minds think alike -heh?

One of the main reasons I like ATC's is that when I'm done with one I can give it or trade it away.

I like to give/trade my cards, but there are some I wish I could see again cause I liked them so much (and have a bad memory!!)     Poor pj,-guess you'll just have to make some more ATC's (I know its tough Grin)  Congratulations on the exhibit!

I have the opposite problem.  Most of my ATC's are mine.  Undecided

Then you better get to swappin', lol.

I started making them for that reason too. But then when you send, you also receive so you're back where you started.

Maybe we'll do a swap like "I'll make you an ATC but you better not make me one"  Grin Grin Grin

Tee, I love getting other peoples cards, it's only my own I want to get rid of!  I admire everyone else work so much more than my own.
