Wally's suit is adorable. The overall pants are so neat as a suit component.

Never have gotten the nightgown patterns ready to make.  But have done an eye glasses case from wool felt.  Found in in a transfer pattern page from maybe 1945 to 1950 - no date on the sheet so am just guessing.




am also working on a purse from the same sheet.

Are you guys still doing this?  I have a few boxes patterns at home, about 95% of them are vintage.  My thrifty vintage fabric stash is coming along well too.  Trouble is, I seem to have trouble finding the motivation to get myself in front of my sewing machine most of the time.  A sewalong may be a big help in that department, if you guys are still doing this. 

I'd like to make dress to wear to my Mum's Luau themed 50th Birthday party, but I am having a lot of trouble narrowing the field pattern-wise.  I am thinking of going with a 40's or 50's style and using a Hawaiian print (of course).  I have quite a few 70's patterns that are contenders too, on account of them being very simple and summery.  They remind me a little of mu-mus but in a pretty and strappy way.

Yep, I'm still working towards doing this! I'm so busy that I have to prioritize and like you, won't get around to something unless I have a reason. Right now my priority is making a dress for the Prince Concert on Saturday. I'm copying a dress by Rowena Sartin that I saw in Blueprint magazine. I have the sample done except for the hem. I have the silk almost cut out so once I'm done with that dress, I will be diving into all the yummy vintage patterns I've picked up.

I love the first pattern you posted! I think the first style with the little bow is really cute and would look great in a Polynesian print!! Make sure you post pics!! I can't wait to see it. Oh, and let me know how it goes with the vintage pattern. I think people were freakishly skinny back then and feel like I will need to make some adjustments when I start.

I do often find old patterns to be a bit on the small side but I have never been one to trust sizing in the first place MyDestny.  I go off the measurements to be safe.  Which ever one I do I am going to alter it to be wider in the skirt, especially if I end up going with a design from the first pic.  I am quite the pear

Oooh, I love the long dark green dress.  I just tried making some pants from an old 60s pattern today.  I need to lose 5 pounds before I can fit into them, however.

I think I might attempt another one of my older patterns here shortly.  I have a few sundress patterns that would be perfect for summer.
