Here's a patchwork purse I made for my Mom for Christmas. I finished it a little late, but I'm very proud of it! It has a magnetic closure, gathered pocket and pen loop inside (see my Flickr pics for detail shot.)

More details and a link to the tutorial I used on my blog!

Do you need a cute purse to go with that outfit?

cute cute cute purse!  I have had that tutorial from Creative Little Daisy saved forever but just haven't had a chance to make the purse.  I even went to a quilt shop & had them help me pick out fabrics for 2 different purses.

I AM going to make this purse though and I just hope it turns out as good as yours.

I'm interested in personal swaps -- I love bracelets & necklaces and I don't know how to make them.

These are great!  Looks like great fabric choices & a functional shape to it.  I have never worked with a magnetic clasp.  Was it fairly easy to figure out?

.......off to check for the tutorial!

Yeah, the magnetic snap was a snap! LOL Just clip 2 small slits for each side. Then insert the snap, and secure the plate to the back, inside the lining. Figuring out where to place those slits was tricky for me (because the lining fabric & cording seam was sooo thick.) But I just did one side, checked for placement, and then did the second. (Honestly I didn't even look if there were instructions on the back of the package, they're that easy!)  Grin

Yeppers, Ginger is my 2 1/2 year old Shiba Inu. She's such a handful, more stubborn than me! LOL I get stares every time I go to the vet with her, though. (And she probably gets more treats than she really needs, I'm a sucker for her sad face!)
