I just have to say this: My mom picked up that magazine this weekend (we've never seen it in town before) and I was leafing through it this weekend and seen the ATCs... and I thought yours was really nice!! How weird is that.

Congrats on winning!!

Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

Wait a minute.  You found out you placed third when you leafed through the magazine in the checkout line and saw your card staring back at you?  That doesn't happen in real life!  Cheesy

So, did you tell the cashier in some shocked, stammering way?  'Cause I totally would have.

I tried expressing my excitement about being in CRAFT magazine back in August to one of the cashiers and she thought I was wierd. It seems all the people at my Joanns are snobs!
So...I didn't bother this time and thought I would just hold off until I could share it with you gals  Grin

Thanks so much for the comments everyone. I haven't found ONE other place on the internet where I can come and read something from a group of strangers and instantly get a smile on my face! I'm definately proud to be a member here  Kiss <3

Maybe she assumed you were lying.  Wink  People in retail get used to hearing all kinds of wacky stories from people.
I, however, decided to buy a copy of CRAFT when I was swapping with you and I found out you were in it.  I look at it, and I think, "I 'know' her!"  Ha.

I think it would be awfully difficult to contain my surprise, if nothing else, if I'd seen my own work in a magazine unexpectedly.

When I told the lady about being CRAFT, I opened the page and pointed to my tote...I don't think if I would have walked in there and said I designed the Joanns logo would she have been any more impressed. She reminded me a lot of the guy in the Clear Eyes commercials! Monotone, exressionless and bland  Tongue

That's a pretty card, Modus!  I agree that you should at least get the issue with your card in it free (even if they had 10 top places, it wouldn't cost them much to do it).  Especially since it looks like they're going to sell at least a dozen extra copies just because your card was in there.  Smiley

I've purchased Threads magazine several times because someone I "know" from online wrote an article in it.  If only my neighbors were as cool as the people I know online.  Wink
