This will be vaguest post ever so bear with me!! I saw this bag at Old Navy a year or more ago, it was either spring or summer because it was bright floral prints. It was also in the girls dept, not womens. I drew a very bad pic of it on paint (geez I'm embarassed!). The thing about it I liked was the criss cross at the top. It wasn't just sewn that way but it was fully lined and looked like a tricky sort of pattern to get it all criss crossed. I don't remember exactly how the straps were but I do know that they werent seperatly attached, make sense? Like it was part of the pattern not a seperate piece that was added later. It was squared at the bottom and didn't have sides. Told you, vague!! So, if anyone has even the slightest idea what I'm talking about.... you know!

There's a pattern available at a lot of fabric stores called the X-bag that looks a lot like what you've drawn.  Maybe that's what you're looking for.  You cut out two pattern pieces, and then the way its folded and sewn creates the criss cross and separate compartments inside.
