Details of swap:
The idea is to pair up people from different countries to craft whatever one might need for a foreign exchange program: the newest slang, trends, fashions, music, foods, best places to go/things to do, etc. all put together into crafty goodness (like journals, guide books, tees, totes, jewelery, and souvenirs). It's a crafty way to learn all about a new culture!

Your package must include one large crafted item, one or two small crafted items, and two small purchased items. Free stuff rocks, so throw in as much free stuff as you want! If anyone wants to do more than this, you can always communicate with your partner so that no one feels bad about their swapped items.

This sounds great! However, i live in 'Hicksville' A very small town (under 80 people) in the middle of Saskatchewan Canada! Nothing too fashionable, trendy, or anywhere to go (unless you need gas). But, it does sound like a fun swap. Could I maybe focus more on my province? If so, I'd be in.  8)d

I'd love to be in-- but it appears that there is already somebody from Indiana in the swap. Do you think that would be okay? Nothing really super exciting from Indiana....we wouldn't get the same partner though....hmmm, must think about this.

Not that I'm organizing this or anything, but I don't see why two people from the same place wouldn't be allowed.  It's not like we are trading with each other or with the same person. 

Also, IMO everyone in the States -including Canada here! - (unless you live in a big name city or something) thinks where they are from is boring or average or uninteresting, but it is not!  The idea is to share something that the other person doesn't know about your world.  Something that a person in Australia or Spain could appreciate about your culture.  I love it!!!

Yes I agree with you. I would just be hard pressed to find any tourist info, postcards etc from my hometown.After looking at the gallery from round one, the 'extras' would be hard to find. Crafting would be easy. I think I may have to sign up.  8)d

Don't sweat it!  I, personally, would gain more by getting an idea of what you (and your townspeople) do on a Saturday night.  I spent a summer travelling Europe and the most culturally enriching time was the ten weeks I spent in a very small town in Brittany France.  I learned more about what life is like from the people at the town internet cafe (they had not one but two computers-a big deal to them!) and at the local pub.  There was one discoteque and lots of fun and cutlure - both French and Celtic.  See - I could swap about my hearttown (it's what I call it since it is not my hometown, but it is in my heart!) and it's culture too!
