I have set myself the challenge of knitting a pair of socks each month this year - anyone want to join me?  I thought that, instead of doing random pairs, I would have a list of different styles/patterns/colours and would knit the socks in that order.  So, for January, I was going to use the free pattern that came with the Colinette Jitterbug yarn I bought, so January can be random pattern month (also because it will be my first ever pair of socks!), then in February I have a pattern in mind (although I can't find it at the mo', it's in my favourites list on my work computer) that has hearts on it, etc.

Patterns

January - "Sock-yarn pattern" i.e. the pattern that came with your yarn (if they did not give you one (meanies!) then pick any pattern you like)

February - "Love" theme challenge (see page 6)

March - Stripes, stripes, stripes (see page 9)

April - Knitty Lace

May - "May"-walkers

June - New yarn, new pattern

July - Citrus bright

August - Cookie A. Pattern

September -

October -

November -

December -

uhm, sort of...don't know that I'd be able to do a pair every month, but I do want to knit socks this year (mine, all mine!). But yes, more sock knitting in 2007! All over it Wink

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

I'm in - I have sooo much sock yarn.  There is also a knit a long for a pair a month here

http://socktopia.net

but I think it would be great to have one here on Craftster, since the other one doesn't seem to have a discussion board.

I'm new to the board and I'd like to join in.  Are there any rules I need to know about?  I have sock yarn on hand, and just completed 2 pairs of socks recently.  First time knitting socks. I've been following a simple pattern and am up for a new challenge.

I'm definitely in too, as it's also my goal to knit a pair a month this year. I'm currently on the second sock for Knitty's Monkey socks.

Ooh, yay!  Interested people!

Knittingjeanie - no, no rules as such.  The challenge is to knit one pair a month following the list of patterns/colours/stitches set each month, and then post pictures of your socks in this thread so we can all ooh and ah over everyone's work!

jesdmill - thanks for posting the link to socktopia.  I agree that one of the benefits of running a sock-along on Craftster is that if one has a question about a pattern, there are loads of helpful people around to give tips and advice!

I will spend the rest of today looking around for patterns and themes, and will try and have a list ready by the end of today.  This is going to be such fun!
