We have a buffalo hide on the floor in our bedroom and neither of my cats can cross it without kneading, they can't help it either- they get this "oh for crying out loud" disgusted expression on their face as they walk/knead their way across it  Grin

I have a friend who's got a cat that does that. She also kneads her hair, pulling it.

The cat's older than Moses, so it's too late to change her Smiley

My cat did that when we first got him, he was a little kitten then, and we did the same thing you did, but it also didn't work. So one day he just stopped doing it because he had discovered my stuffed alligator toy and now it's his XD

One of my cats is always kneading my hair, at night, when I try to sleep... Roll Eyes He also purrs in my ears and drools on my neck. A pleasure!  Wink

I have two kittens who loved to annoy the heck out of me at night, sucking on my neck and shoulders. I read somewhere that cats hate the smell of oranges, so I had a little bottle of Satsuma pefume oil that I rubbed on my neck and shoulders before I went to bed.

It worked, they took a few sniffs and licks and backed right away. After a few nights of doing this, they now don't suck on my neck, they stay clear away from it.

The mother cat is a great idea!

While I agree that this is adorable, it's not a safe idea really.  The suckling on an empty nipple encourages the baby to swallow air and can cause colic which can often times be fatal.  Just be careful that you use unpierced nipples so no air will get into the little tummies.  I've been a wildlife rehaber for many moons and have lost a few babies of all sorts to colic and know how agonizing it can be for them.
