a friend of a friend is having a baby so i jumped on the chance to knit baby's first tattoo with skulls. i used some super soft sock yarn that's machine washable and dryable.

Not only is your Avatar amazing, but so is the baby sweater. *sighs* I wish I could knit, but I fail at it. ;-) I am due in august, so maybe I have time to learn. Normal baby clothes are just too cutesy for me.

Thanks so much for posting that - I always wondered what it looked like with the skulls rather than the swallows! Gorgeous. Lucky baby.

Oh, how wonderful! I was just RIGHT NOW considering making this very design (but with pink as a CC) for a coworker, and I've never done ANY colorwork before, so I was confused - so the motif is stitched in, rather than being done with intarsia?

The woman I'd make this for is very punk and nonconventional and has said that, while she will appreciate and accept anything pink that anyone might give her, she will not buying anything pink herself. So... maybe pink skulls will at least be a good compromise Smiley

What yarn did you use?

Awesome, awesome, awesome.  I think its great when people help little babies be rock-and-roll.  They need us!  Otherwise they will always be wearing patterns of little giraffes in hats!
