I too had an accident at the forge, only My intended project was to be a metal scribe.  The shop was set up with work benches 2 people to a table and a cooling bench where all projects from the forge were supposed to go when hot.  My teacher instructed me to examine the scribe sitting at my workbench partners side and guess what... he ignored the cooling table rule and brought this thing over at the "JUST" turned black stage... third degree burns exactly where one holds a pen, good thing I'm semi-ambidextrous, took a year to

Oh ouch! That hurt even to think about it. Do you have to regular tests to make sure that you're still safe? I don't know much about lead poisoning so I'm not sure how much you have to have in your system to make you sick but I'm surprised they don't remove it now.

Oh I'm fine now. This happened a couple years ago. Mu tush did hurt when I was writing about it though lol

YOu know, I have never had a test regarding the lead.  I guess I am going to be okay!   Grin Grin

I was making a cased-in portfolio to store some prints in yesterday.  I was cutting some book board with my trusty metal straight edge and craft knife, when - UH OH - the knife jumped the straight edge and went into two of my fingers!  I went to the ER and got all patched up (no stiches, woot), and then decided to make my injury into something funny.

I would just like to say that I actually don't spend alot of time climbing on kitchen counters, but I have two stories for you right now.

I was once making curtains for the window above our kitchen sink. So naturally I had to climb up to do some measuring and whatnot. So I innocently jump down onto the floor, directly onto an upturned thumbtack. It went right in to that little ball-type part under my big toe...yikes.

Another time I was going to get the super glue out of a cupboard, it was up on the highest shelf and I was on a chair. Naturally it was pushed all the way to the back of the cupboard, so I decide for a little extra height to step up onto the kitchen stove. Bad news. Apparently the mother had been cooking something not five minutes earlier. I had a lovely little half-target pattern seared into the bottom of my left foot.

This reminds me of something I did once.  I can't remember why I was climbing onto the counter, but I was.  I stepped off of a bar stool onto the counter and it didn't register to me that my mom had a clear glass cutting board on that part of the counter.  Well it was super slippery under my socks and I fell off the counter.  I wasn't really hurt, but I felt pretty stupid!

ugh... i've been lurking on this topic
i hate it, but keep on reading it
on time, i was at my babysitter's house and i was making a book... i was stapling and stapled my index fingers together... it didn't hurt, but i figured it should hurt, and i should scream... so i yelled like a maniac
my floor in my room is covered in needles. i use them and just drop them. works fine for me.
i did once get a embrodery (extra fat) needle stuck in my heel and couldn't get it out.... Tongue
i barely ever go to the ER... but for stupid reasons...
1. Cat slashed my eye (i was singing to it)
2. Sister tried to get me to dance (sprained wrist?!)
3. Wacking head on baby cradle (mom came in... pretended to be asleep... chatting with friend... pulled head down too fast... ugh staples in my head!!!)
 Sad

this sounds incredibly stupid, but when i was about 8 i had one of those huge superballs from the 50 cent machenes. well i decided that since it broke in half (dunno how that happened) i would superglue it together well, long story short, i wound up soaking my hands in nailpolish remover for like an hour with BOTH of my hands glued to a superball....not so much fin, and then the stupid superball broke again... Lips sealed
