Hooray! a recon that I didn't fail at!

Woo, a recon that I actually finished AND wasn't a disaster!

Used to be:

A plain green t-shirt I dug out my pile of clothes I don't wear anymore,

and,

crazy fabric sitting around that I got free from work.

And is now:



The best picture of the shirt.  My camera really didn't like capturing it's true color.

The following pictures look different, but the color is a light lime green, close to the one in the first picture.







A close up of the appliques, that need ironing. (Hey, I just finished it.  Give me a break :p hehe.)

I gave it new  sleeves, and they are overlocked instead of hemmed.  I also added the heart appliques, to give it something extra.

Very cute! I like the colors and you did an excellent job, nice fit. Nice work on the sleeves, they can be hard to do.

I'd prefer a shirt with the appliques up on the shoulder/ by the neck.
Harder to do, I know... but more flattering IMHO.

 I agree, but I thought there was enough color up top with the sleeves, so I put it at the bottom to balance it out.

True... but so many of us don't have balanced figures (speaking hypothetically, of course) so the last design element we want is "HEY! Look at my hips!"

you guys should talk ... looks like you have similar tastes ..its not the ecxact same shirt or any thing just really similar ( different sleeves )
Nice job !... also I really like the appliuqes at the bottom corner like that ... it adds a nice interesting detail and your hips look fine to me !

Wow, I certainly think your new re-con is a resounding success! 

I know how you feel, though. I have a room full of disaters. I guess that makes success so much sweeter.

Lastly, I like the applique where you have it. It works well with your design.
