I'm in the same boat as TheBon this week! I've spun up a couple of skeins for my swap partner which I can't show...but I also spun some skeins for a hat for my boyfriend I'm happy to share!
I dyed all kinds of wool and mohair various shades of green along with some black and blue.  I carded all the colors together along with these little wool clumpy things I dyed with neon food coloring.
I then corespun everything around some dark green boucle.

So many beautiful yarns and colours!  Cheesy
woodlandsprite – I love both yarns and Laura22 – it’s great to the yarn knitted up.

Here are mine (a little late)

Delicate – plant dyed Falkland, with sparkle pouffs, lots of sequins, glass beads and even more sparklies

Beach – Falkland wool I spun on a spindle during my Christmas holiday in Ireland

Monet – Kid Mohair and Falkland wool

caedara - I just have to say, your work is so beautiful! I especially love Monet! I want my yarn to turn out like that sometime.

Gee whiz, Fiber Friday is pretty exciting this week! I'll also be on the look out for a hair pick this week - I think I read that post before, but I must not have known enough about fiberly things at the time to understand why it's so cool. Thanks for that, Lufah! - and your knitting is amazing, be sure to show us when it's finished. Oh, and you're so right, my yarn does look like Play-Doh! I love that so much, my wheel practice skeins will now be called "The Play-Doh Series". Smiley

I love those little poofy bits in your Delicate yarn, caedara. And misshawklet, your colors are always so amazing, that third one looks like yummy melty sherbet! Mmm.

You all have inspired me to give navajo plying a go, but it was a bit of a disaster. The second try was a tiny bit better - does anyone have any good tips for a navajo newbie?

100Bean - I would suggest that you go really slowly at first, until you get the hang of making the loops.  I use my left hand to do all of the loop-making and to keep the whole operation from collapsing in on itself, and I use my right hand to hold the twist back and smooth the yarn out.  I find that my biggest problem is over-plying, so I have to be careful not to treadle as fast as my feet seem to want.

I hope this helps Smiley

How about a dyeing techniques board?

Thanks, bloodyraven, that does help - I just spun some stuff and have loads leftover of one of the singles. I'm going to give navajo plying another try right now and try to go very ... very ... slowly. Smiley Hopefully I'll have something successful to show next week!
