increase by knitting into the front and back of the stitch then 'pick up the vertical strand running between the two stitches just made'.

She has a tutorial . http://www.girlfromauntie.com/stitch/inc2/

Hey kelly_bear! I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures. Mine doesn't look like much at the moment as I've only done 16 rows, so seeing one a bit more advanced will motivate me Cheesy

yay, a knitalong!  i've been doing rogue for the general first sweater knitalong here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=120126.0

i started on it this summer, but then i had to go back to college, which sucked all my crafty time!  i've worked on it some over break, in between a sock and a scarf.

here are the most recent photos.  TamaraInCyberspace and i are using the exact same yarn!  what are the chances of there being two crazy purple rogues?

both sleeves are done now.

i'm a bit further on the pocket.  do you like my tangly mess of 2 balls of yarn and 3 sets of needles?

I'm so in on this.  I finally got my first sleeve started and I'm already having issues!  I'd love some help.

On Chart D (sleeves),  I'm at Row 3 where you start the increase, but for some reason when I'm done with the increases (I'm using the instructions from the GFA website that was linked a few posts back) I have an extra stitch left before the marker.
I've counted and ripped and counted some more and I do have the proper number of stitches in the previous row according to the chart. Just for some reason once I've increased there's an extra stitch.

I'm new to knitting and to charts, but could I be doing something
wrong? I'm stitching the increase according to the instructions on the website and it's still coming out wrong.

Woah determinedimprovisation, I see you are a woman of excellent taste. Are you knitting it as a pullover or cardigan? I'm going the cardigan route.

This is a most beautiful color of yarn- Cascade 220 color 9453 for the curious. Right now it is the color of 220 featured on the front page of Webs (www.yarn.com). determined captured the color much better - it is purple heathered with bright blue and bright pink. I get a little excited every time I find a tiny slub of pure blue or pink. (Something has to spice up the monotony of those stockinette sections!)

My goal is to finish chart A (the side cable chart of the body) and do as much beyond that as possible tomorrow. I start school again on Monday and it doesn't leave much time for knitting.

As of right now the modifications I have made are to cardiganize it and to do 5 central cable repeats on the waist instead of 3. I hate too short sweaters that let drafts up the back when I sit down.
