I made this messenger bag for my sister-in-law. She is currently starting her second year of volunteer service at Nazareth Farm - a Catholic community that provides home repair in rural West Virginia to those who need it and can't afford it (I am really oversimplifying their mission. Click on the link if you want to read more). I figured that she could use a sturdy bag for work and decided to jazz it up with the Farm's logo.

The logo was made with freezer paper and fabric paint.  I made up the pattern for the bag as I went along and it came out pretty well, although it was a little funky around the flap.  I didn't go crazy with the pockets.  Too many pockets means too many opportunities to mess it up Wink.

I hope you like it!

What a thoughtful gift!  You did a great job.  And that is a wonderful thing your sister is doing in WV.  I've wanted to go do something similar, just short term though, in New Orleans.  They need so much help there.

That is too cool you put the logo on too.

First of all, wonderful bag.   It looks really really nice!
Second of all, wow, it's not embarassing at all that people have to volunteer in my state as if it's a third world country. What a great thing she's doing tho!  Your efforts couldn't have gone to anyone better, sounds like she has a soul for service.

I love that bag. It's the perfect "simple messenger" bag. And the logo looks cool too.

Did you use a pattern? I want to make this exact bag now Smiley
