Remarkable.

Removing adhesive isn't all that bad. A little vegetable oil of the cheapest variety will help. I discovered this when I found that Goo Gone gaveme violent headaches. Dab oil on the sticky stuff, wait 10 minutes, and wipe up with a paper towel. It works on tar too.

thanks for the tip.. i was getting alittle nervous about what the floor might be like after i remove the tape! thanks!

That floor does look really cool!
I really wish I'd have seen this years ago... I've lived in a couple places with some pretty ugly floors!  Cheesy
BTW, if and when the time comes, try blasting a hair dryer at the tape on high heat for a bit before you pull it up. The heat should soften the adhesive.

the CD stand is such a neat idea!
and your floor looks SO cool, it reminds me of that dancing game where you stomp on the squares.  Wink

How creative!

My dh would probably be all over this since he uses ductape to fix almost everything.

I'd had a similar idea (NOT as cool as this!) for my bathroom and kitchen cabinets, and I was also worried about taking it all off when I move.  I would suggest using Goo Gone or that orange cleaner that Billy Mays (rest his soul) used to advertise.  That, or a healthy dose of cooking spray, because those products seem to work really well when trying to get sticky stuff off of surfaces.

Clear contact paper functions like a cheap laminate. If you were to put that down over the duct tape then there would be fewer opportunities for hair and such stuff to cling on corners.

I can imagine that walking on it barefoot would be kind of funny feeling, the clear contact paper would make it less weird and a little soft.
