Any suggestions? (like pattern numbers or something) I need a basic idea for a dress I'm aspiring to make for graduation...

Try New Look 6103 - It looks like a day dress on the packet but I made it from a teal sparkly velour (ok, sounds awful but looked great - or so I was told). It comes in a sleeveless shift top or a sleeveless wrap style and has a coat pattern with it.  I haven't used the coat.

thank you for the suggestion, sewcialdistortion. I took a look at that pattern, and I might end up using it! Advice like yours is what I love about craftster. Smiley

What about Simplicity 4998? I just made it for my homecoming dress, and it turned out really really well - the best out of all the dresses I've made. It looks kinda 70sish in the pictures, but don't let that stop you. Smiley It turned out decidedly not 70s and very cool.

I think it's the hair cut that makes it look so 70s Smiley
