Arzu, the scarf looks really great and the question mark in question : ) gives the scarf character.

Great job

Arzu stop churning out those beautiful double knit scarves and making the rest of us look bad! Hehe just kidding.. it seems like pixellated game characters were made for double knitting huh? Your scarves rock!  Smiley

All these beautiful FOs make me feel so *aaaaaaaaaaaargh* that my scarf is still 1 foot long.  Sad Want to know the whole long story why? (I'ma gonna tell it anyway!) I taught myself how to knit from the internet maybe 2 years ago.. anyway, I recently discovered that I've been knitting and purling the wrong way. Wrong meaning I wrap the yarn in the opposite direction around the needle. I never knew cos the stitches didn't get twisted or anything. ANYWAY I finally figured it out when I was watching stuff on knittinghelp.com - aughhh!

So I re-taught myself to knit the right way (it's also faster! woohoo!). The stitches are subtly different than last time.. and guess what? yeah that 1 foot of houndstooth scarf is knit the "wrong" way. I'm sort of just putting it out of sight for awhile before I have to rip it all back and start overSad

The board's been kind of dead huh?
But I'm still knitting. Mine is now 85 cm, so 2' 9.5" (I had to use a converter for that...) and I'm sort of halfway there... Maybe I'll shorten it a bit.

Aww.. that's sweet, thanks! It won't be very suprising from now. Just more dots and the end will be the same as the beginning...

So, I'm extremely new to knitting, and I just recently tried out double knitting (double knitted star scarf). I found this KAL & figured I would join it (it's one of my many WIPs, so I'm sure it's going to take me a while to finish it). Here is my progress so far:

I'm having trouble keeping the sides tight...any tips?

Have old jeans, pillowcases, or t-shirts? I'll take them! I'm also always looking for the sleeves to women's long sleeved shirts!

I've heard you're supposed to twist your yarn at the end/start of each row.

Yes, I've been doing that, but I think the real problem starts when I get to the end of each row...by the time I get to the end of each row, the last 2 stitches are loose, no matter how tight I knit & no matter how tight I try to twist the threads. [hmph] I guess it will just click one day.
