It's quite a small count, I think maybe 18?  It is hard to see, it's best during the day when the light filters from behind through the holes in the aida cloth.

What are you making for the housewarming present?

Count me in I am cross stitching something for my mother-in-law that I started last year.  I lost the vision in my left eye last year and had to hang up the hoop for a bit and now I'm getting around better (still can't see clearly) I want to pick it up again.  It is a Rainbow Bridge cross stitch that will eventually look like this:

I only have the dalmation dog and part of the orange tabby done.  This is my big project for 2007.  I want it done by Christmas.  Wish me luck.

Good luck! Quite an undertaking, even with normal vision. Glad you're starting to adjust though

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

I am very interested in joining this, but probably will not even begin to start on my project until mid-April.   Also, I joke that this thing is my "5 year project."   That is, I can fully see myself working on it 5 years from now because it is so insanely detailed...but beautiful.

Here is an image:

I know it is small, but let me point out a few things.   The finished size is 22.5" X 14.5" on 25 count evenweave.    Sadly, I bought the kit through eBay (it is discontinued) and the seller failed to mention that there was no fabric included, so I purchased as close to what was included...a cream color rather than the more beige in the image.

What can I say?  I'm a glutton for punishment...and Teresa Wentzler and Peacocks!

G'day,

Sounds like a plan. I'm working on a 14th Century wallhanging. It's 60cm by 100cm, with all the ground covered. It's using a technique called klosterstitch. I'm estimating it's about 500 hours worth of work.

All progress pictures so far, about 45 hours of work:

This is the overall design:

Oh my gosh, the klosterstitch project looks so intense.  Have you ever done a project that big before? When are expecting to be done? It looks very beautiful already, but I can't believe you have to fill the entire thing in!!! Good luck.

Can I still join?

I'm working on a linen cross stitch sampler that I've been working on for forever and maybe this will help me finish it.  (it's the DMC Linen Antique Roses Sampler)

I made a lot of mistakes with counting, I've had to re-do a big part of it 3 times. I will post the progress so far later on.
