That is great.  My sister asked me to knit her a blanket for her queen size bed.  Now her birthday is in May and I am not sure I am crazy enough to try (though it may have to be a very late gift).  Just in case, I have some questions:

How many stitches did you initially cast on?

What size needles did you use?

I know my guage may be different than yours, but I just wanted a general idea in case I am foolish enough to try this.  I will at least try to do a throw if I don't do a whole banket.

Thanks for any info.

Wow, that took a lot of work, it's huge!  You have some great patience.  Is it garter stitch?

It's stockinette with a seed stitch border.  However the yarn is so fuzzy that you can't really tell what type of stitch it is.

I think I cast on about 140 stitches and I was using size 13 needles.  I also made this with 2 strands of yarn held together for the entire blanket.  It took me about 9 months to make the blanket.  But I was also working on other projects off and on too and I'd go a month or so without working on it as well.  I think on the Lion Bran website they have patterns for quick knitted blankets using Size 50 needles and using several yarns at once.  If you do that, you could probably make a blanket pretty quickly.

i used the moda dea wild along with some yellow worsted weight acrylic to make it a little bit heavier and easier to work with.
