I'm from Hamburg, the city where it's raining almost every day (like right now). But still, I love it here!

Hello to all Germans out there, it's a small world after all...

Im in Hamburg but my husband still lives in Berlin so I get back there occasionally. Whereabouts? And (more importantly) have you found ANY reasonable crafty shops around?

i live in mitte - near rosa luxemburg platz/rosenthaler platz -
so did you also live here?
well, honestly - u can't really rely on me as i
more or less just started out, there are some nice fabric stores,
there is a big crafts store near alexanderplatz  -
you can get nice stuff at kadewe, which, of course is expensive.. Sad
but really really nice shops - no, sorry.

I lived in Dahlem and Wilmersdorf (argh - the West!!) but would have much prefered Mitte/prenzlauerberg had I the money and commuting time. KaDeWe is about the only place I go shopping for fabrics, and even that is a pretty poor selection. Werken, Spielen, something (forgot the name, sorry) under the Bierpinzel in Steglitz (U-bahn Schlossstrasse) has an ok crafty section out the back (its a bit hidden - I lived in the regoin for 2 years before i found it!) and run various craft courses. And there are some nice bead shops in your area. But thats about all I know of!
This bit of Berlin craft was on a blog I read and I found it pretty cool:

Hi,
in Berlin, you must visit "HCO".
It's in Charlottenburg and it's really worth spending an afternoon there Cheesy

It's like a sale from stock (?) (we would call it Lagerverkauf) - good prices (you have to add 16 % Mwst. though).

I can't wait to go there again-
But 600 km are seperating us Cry
