I have been wanting to make knitted fruit people for a while and decided to make an apple, a pear and an orange. Well, here is Mr. Pear. I don't know what to name him? Any suggestions?

well here is the pattern for all you people who like to knit toys as much as I do. I'm too ADD to stick to big projects.

Pattern:

Materials:
Worsted Weight yarn, I used Knit Picks Shine Worsted in Sunflower
and you'll need green for the stem and leaf
size 8 dpns.
yarn needle
black yarn for embroidery or puffy paint

Directions:
BODY- with yellow yarn

CO 6 sts.
Kfb on all sts.
K
K1, Kfb around
K
you should have 18
k for 10 rows
k2, kfb around
k -24
knit 2 rows
K3, kfb around - 30
k
k4, kfb around - 36
knit 8 rows
kfb 3 times, spread them out - 40
k
k8, k2tog around- 36
k
k4, k2tog around- 30
k
k3, k2tog around- 24
k
k2, k2tog around- 18
k
k1, k2tog around- 12
k
k2tog around- 6
cut a tail and pull yarn through the remaining sts. and through the center with your yarn needle

Leaf: with green yarn
CO1
Kfb - 2
k
kfb on all sts. - 4
k
kfb on first and last sts. - 6
k 3 rows
Kfb on outside sts. - 8
k
k2tog on outsidests. - 6
k 3 rows
k2tog on outside sts. - 4
k
k2tog on outside - 2
k
k2tog and knot

sew onto the top of Mr. Pear and make an I-cord stem with the green yarn.

well, if there are more than one they are called- octupi and I think they are omnivores. Which means they eat meat and vegetation. I'm pretty sure. They might eat a pear if you gave them one. who knows??

and do you think I should attach arms and legs to my fruit people??

Hmm, I like the pear limbless, but it might be cool to adds some arms and legs (anybody remember that Blur music video with the walking milk box??)  Personally, I would add just legs.  No arms.

As for a name for Mr. Pear, how about Bartlett or Bosco?  Both are varieties of pear (technically Bartlett and Bosc).  I like Bosco.
